Activities
MMC manages RTV's Internet and Teletext services, subtitling for deaf people, and video pages. It manages the Discography Unit and also undertakes a wide range of projects including the main RTV website with news, audio and image downloads on demand plus various thematic portals including those for culture, e-education and sport, as well as blogs and Internet forums.
Cultural content online
The content for the MMC portal is provided jointly by the RTV Slovenia Multimedia Centre and the cultural programming wing of Radio-Television Slovenia (RTV Slovenia). It varies from general news and online interview chat rooms to announcements of concerts, performances, and other events. The site contains searchable listings for cultural events across the country and incorporates an archive of culture related news and media coverage.
A portal in English language
In 2013 the RTV Slovenija's web portal introduced a portal in the English language, aimed at English speaking individuals interested in important news from Slovenia. RTV Slovenija’s multimedia centre MMC and Radio Slovenia International (RSi) joined forces for this project. The portal features the important daily news, provided by the journalists of MMC and Radio Slovenia International, along with audio- and videocontents of RTV Slovenija which are in English, and the RTV programme for English TV and Radio.
International cooperation
The Multimedia Centre is one of the 21 worldwide partners of P2P-Next consortium. Peer-to-peer (P2P) is a project coordinated by the Technical Research Centre of Finland, based in Tampere. The P2P-Next platform extends the notion of conventional multimedia distribution and focuses on building a broader distribution of radio and television programmes, movies, music, ring tones, games, and various data applications to the general public.
